Acrylic Layer Cake

I can never leave well-enough alone and so what.
I was not particularly pleased with this originally when it was Pink Bones in Yellow Sky. I have messed with it since and for now, it looks like this. For those of you who think about such things, this is a small canvas. I would not waste paint on a large one and find large canvasi intimidating. Well, intimidating is not the right word. More to the point, I don’t like to be stuck with one thing because I am too OCD about “finishing” thus prefer lots of things to be OCD about instead.
And painting large makes me tired and my arm goes numb, aches for days and I quickly lose what little patience I possess.
Why I Almost Dumped This Blog…

Deviant Hues

I would have preferred these photos be at full size but I am forever experimenting, unsatisfied but undeterred! This is a “dirty pour” according to Nancy Reyner, a fabulous artist who paints in acrylic mixed media. I recently bought her DVD on pouring acrylics and I have a lot to learn! What messy fun this is!! This remains on my table, waiting my next fit of enthusiastic energy. That may come today or in a decade; one never knows the wind.

Pink Bones in Yellow Sun

I worked on Pink Bones Yellow Sunset while painting with my grandkids during their recent visit. I had gotten them little canvases as they love painting on canvas with acrylic. They always get so excited about “real” canvas and “real” paint, not “kids watercolors”!!!
“I feel like a real artist, grandma!”
Music to my ears.
